The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, founded in 1889, is among the oldest golf clubs and most picturesque courses in South Asia. Uniquely surrounded in parts by the town itself, by tea groves and lightly wooded streams, the Club maintains an 18-hole course along 6,399 yards. Bordered by rows of towering eucalyptus and cypress trees and hedged in by acacia shrubbery, the course scenically sprawls against its colonial-style clubhouse, deliberately oblivious to the bustle of the city around it.
